Northumberland is a stunning part of England, with a rich yet turbulent history and endless things to see and do. There are numerous sites of historical interest to visit.
The countryside is perfect for walking and cycling and the Northumberland National Park offers a tranquil oasis for outdoor lovers. Teeming with wildlife and with several cycle tracks and long distance walking trails running through it, visitors cannot fail to be captivated by this stunning Area of Outstanding, Natural Beauty.

The coastline is also a hive of activity, with it's abundance of rare sea birds and mammals, naturalists are attracted here to observe the comings and goings of the migrating visitors. There are cliff top walks with fantastic views and endless water sports on offer, which are also a favourite pastime for the more energetic visitor. Sailing, windsurfing and Jet Ski activities are amongst the more exhilarating sea and beach sports, or for a more relaxing time there is plenty of opportunity for some quality fishing in the crystal clear rivers and lakes.

The Cheviot Hills are perfect for climbing and fell running and are also scattered with historical ruins, battle sites and interesting villages for the more intrepid explorer or archaeologists.
